Plastic Surgery

I'm going to get plastic surgery, get a whole new face. Then I'm going to walk around and tell people how proud I am of it. And if you don't cut that face off and feed it to me, I'll be disappointed. Why?

Because I have nothing to be proud of other than being so shallow as to spend that much money on changing something about myself that there's nothing inherently wrong with, while other people are sick and hungry in the streets. That person did not change the face themselves, they paid to have it done. It's like if I had my arm replaced with a mechanical one that could punch through walls. I can't rightfully be PROUD of that ability, because I didn't build that strength myself, I bought it.

It's different from, say, someone who saves up to buy a nice car. They are proud of the work they did, the effort put into making the money to get that car. But these people are only proud of the fact that they look better.

I lost where I was going...

Hurricane Gustav

I'm sure I'm not the only one who notices that hurricanes hit the SAME places every damn time they come around. That being said, why do we spend tax money on helping the stupid fuckers that live there? Do they really not see the trend? Do they love that area THAT much that they feel the need to spend OUR money to help them stay in a dangerous place?

Personally, I think people who live in that area should have to sign a waver, so that we don't have to pay for their stupid asses to be able to reproduce.

God is a dick.

"I'm going to create this group of creatures whose sole purpose is to worship me! And if they don't, I'll send them to a horrible place called hell, to be punished." Am I wrong here?

Also, what the fuck is the deal with hell? If I kicked someone out of my house, and they got a new apartment, and I sent everyone who came to visit that I didn't like to that person's new apartment, Would they be miserable, or would they be partying it up?

Why do people think that the devil would punish people like himself? Because god said so? Do you think he would listen to God after kicking him out?

Am I wrong?

Buying From Wendy's is NOT Helping the Economy!!

The latest rash of Wendy's Ads tells us that buying from them stimulates the economy. I can't tell if they're really that stupid, or if they're just lying. The other option is that I'm wrong, and if that's the case, then as always, correct me.

My understanding on an economy is that if I buy something from you for $10, you'll buy it back from me later for the same $10, circulating the money. But then some other company steps in, and I pay them $10 for something. Well, they're a corporation, so 5 of the 6 people involved with get $1, which WILL be recirculated. But, the 6th person, the owner of the company, gets $5 of that, never to be seen again, because he sits on millions, possibly billions of dollars, and doesn't spend it. This little economy has just taken a hit, because the prices are the same but less money exists to pay for it within this personal economy.

THIS is why we are getting fucked financially as a country. Buying from Wendy's only perpetuates this problem, and does the opposite of solving it. In conclusion, FUUUUUUCK WENDY'S.

Election Thoughts

Y'know, I was sure Obama was going to win, because the election is purely about a woman vs. a nonwhite guy, and since the chick lost, obviously Obama would win, and it doesn't really matter what either candidate says. But then I remembered that I really believe the government controls the elections more than most people think. I also remembered that the Government, much like the News now, is mostly entertainment. Therefore, I'm not really sure what to think. Obama might win because he's notwhite, but McCain has an equal chance because the current government could very likely make sure he wins, just for the "Oh wow, didn't see that coming" entertainment element. Fuck. I thought I had it figured out.

Original Ideas, or the Lack of Them...

It's funny how few original ideas come about any-more. I mean, yes, "everything left has been done before," but seriously, when someone comes up with a new show idea, does EVERYONE have to steal it? A band comes out with a somewhat unique sound, and less than a month later, 5 other bands have similar names and sounds, and you can hardly tell them apart. This is true of almost ALL genres of music. The same happens with TV shows. I suppose I can understand a bit more with TV, if you can put enough of a spin on it, but come on...Flight (whatever) Down is a DIRECT rip-off of Lost, only with teenagers, and they play it on a channel aimed at a younger audience.  All it is is supporting evidence that no one cares about real entertainment anymore, its all about "how can I make money?"

Beyond that, society now gets off on other people's misfortune. Has anyone seen the show Moment of Truth? It is absolutely horrifying to watch. a couple, or parent/child, or some other pairing, selects one of the two to take a lie detector test on a whole gamut of questions. Then they go on the show and ask the same questions, and if the answers given match the answers given the first time during the test, then the person wins money. The other person in the pairing just watches and gets hurt. The longer they go, the more personal the questions get, up to things like "have you ever cheated on your SO," While the SO is sitting right there. Even if it is scripted, the fact that people get off to this shit is sick. I can't believe people anymore.

Quotes for thought...

I was making a sandwich this morning and overheard this on some show my sister was watching that appeared to be Lost For Teens:

"I can't help but wonder how smart a democracy can be, when the majority votes to do the dumbest things possible."

Couldn't be closer to the truth, I think.

Next on Nottheman: Original Ideas, or the lack of them.

An Excerpt.

I'll elaborate more on why this paragraph terrifies the fuck out of me after I get some sleep...right now though, here:

"“Now what I think,” he said, to his lighter, “I think all that stuff is both real and not real at the same time. And I think the people who see it and the people that don’t are both right. They’re just like two different radios, switched to different stations. Now I ain’t no Star Trek fan and I don’t know about other dimensions and all that. Maybe there is, maybe there’s another world just like this one except over there I’m Japanese and part robot, I don’t know, but I am an old Catholic and I do believe in Hell. I believe it ain’t just rapists and murderers down there, I believe its demons and worms and vile things that wouldn’t make no sense to you if you saw them. It’s the grease trap of the universe. And the more I think of it, the more I think it’s not some place ‘down there’ at all, that it’s here, all around us. We just don’t perceive it. Just like how the country music radio station is out there, in the air, even if you ain’t tuned to it. But I think somehow, through some chemistry or magic or some voodoo, that faux Jamaican S.O.B. tuned into it, into Hell itself. With that, he opened the door. He became the door.” "

Rebellion

I've noticed something. I knew it a long time ago, but I'm posting it now. The government is distracting us with target practice while the real targets sneak by. The government taps a ball at the top of the hill, and we perpetuate the rest of the ball's trip. They spark something, punk rock, for example. People rally for or against it. Those for it feel rebellious, those against feel they are fighting an evil. Meanwhile, we continue to kill innocent people, including our OWN, as well as countless other things that go on without us seeing. But we don't see it, because we're happy fighting our puppet opponent.

Thoughts always welcomed.

Points of View

So I had a conversation with someone today that outraged me. They could not get their head around the fact that their opinion was simply that. To them, their opinion was fact. The example used:

There are two programs, both output a .png file.

1) Entirely manual...you type the code in to tell it to output the file. It outputs a very high quality image.
2) Push a button, and it's done. It's a shitty quality file, but it did it with a simple mouse click.

Now, it seems to me that which one is "better" is entirely dependent on the user. If an old lady can't see the quality difference, and doesn't know the code to type, then logically program 2 is better for her. A photographer who knows coding would say the first program is better.

Anyway, this friend argues that the computer looks at the code and concludes that they both do the same thing, but one outputs a higher quality file, and thus is better. To this friend, since the computer is objective, it is right, and any deviation is simply wrong. To this friend, subjectivity does not exist.

My problem isn't that he disagrees with me. He has that right. My problem is that he is stating his opinion as fact, and criticizing mine by saying that "subjective logic is a crutch."

Opinions?

Culmination (4/3)

What does this all mean? Let's see what we come up with. Like any metaphysical belief, the followers will come up with anything to answer the question, no matter how deep they have to dig. Does it mean I'm right? No....it's just a possibility.

Q: "If I can change my reality, why can't I make the sky green?"

A: I believe that it IS possible to change the color of every day organic objects such as the blue sky or the green leaves. The problem is, very few people can hack their brains to gain access to those files. Keep in mind that, throughout this, I use computer terms as a metaphor, not in any literal sense. When we are young, we are taught that things are a certain way. Dogs bark, Cats meow, and the Sky is blue. That's just how it works. Those things are stored in "read only" files. This means that the average person can't change them, because they are hidden deep in the subconscious. I do firmly believe that with proper training and lots of hard work, it can be done, however.

Q: So what about other religions and beliefs? What about the fact that I also believe in Karma?

A: Well, believing in something makes it true. Therefore, believing in karma makes it exist. If you truly change your mind and stop believing, then it will cease to be.

Q: What about science?

A: Science exists because we made it exist. Someone once told me that we cannot change the color of the sky because we cannot change the science of WHY the sky is blue to begin with. We created B to Justify A. If we change A, B will change accordingly.

I'll finish this one later, I'm burnt.

RPG Theory (3/3)

This one is more common place than one would think. I also came up with this independently, only to find out later others had also thought of this. This is the theory that a very small percentage of the living creatures in the universe are "real," or to put it another way, few living things really have what most people call 'souls.'

Have you ever had a conversation with someone, and you felt like they were just throwing out automated responses? Not as if they weren't paying attention, but as if they weren't really thinking, like they were programmed to say and do certain things. I believe that there are many levels of AI, some very close to real thought; but for the most part I'm pretty sure the majority of the human race consists of hollow script. I'm not saying we're computer programs, I meant in an organic sense.

Usually I can tell who is real simply by feeling them out. They don't have a solid energy signature, it's kind of a ghostly, synthetic energy.

Law of Attraction, AKA Personal Reality (2/3)

I recently (read: sometime in the last two years,) developed, independently, a believe that I alter my reality with my thoughts and feelings. I thought this was kind of out there, and that it was probably an indication that I needed therapy, since I had never heard any one else mention it. Later, however, I found out that apparently that line of thought is actually an old belief called the Law of Attraction.

From Wikipedia:
"a person's thoughts (conscious and subconscious), emotions, and beliefs cause a change in the physical world that attracts positive or negative experiences that correspond to the aforementioned thoughts, with or without the person taking action to attain such experiences. This process has been described as "harmonious vibrations of the law of attraction"[1], or "you get what you think about; your thoughts determine your experience"."

Basically, if you expect something to happen, good or bad, then it will. This is also linked to the subconscious. For example, if you are trying to get a job, but you really don't want to work there, then your efforts don't count for much. Your desire to not get that job will cause something to happen that will prevent it from happening.  Likewise, if you expect something awesome to happen, then it will.

Think about it...how often have you thought about someone you hadn't talked to in awhile, and then they called you a few days later? They were on your mind, and if you missed them, or had the desire to talk to them, then you likely caused that phone call to manifest.  It sounds crazy, that you can control the universe with your mind, but depending on what you believe the universe is, it kind of makes sense.

You would think this would be an awesome thing, and that controlling the world with your will power could only bring happiness, but consider this. You're in a relationship with someone you find very attractive. Something happens to cause you to question your loyalty and/or love for that person. That doubt would then transpire in events within that relationship, likely causing problems. To take it a step further, if those problems do transpire, and they scare you into thinking the relationship will go downhill, then it will, simply because you expect it.  How about those of us disappointed with the way the government and/or society is being run today? If you expect things to get worse, then they will.  I have personally done experiments with this, and I've only had one or results incongruent with the what should have happened. However, they were anomalous, not necessarily counter-evidence.

Now, one could say there's no proof, since the whole concept is metaphysical and material data is impossible to generate. One could also say that expecting something, then having it happen, is simply good observation skills, or some form of ESP. And you could be right. There's no way to argue against those points.

Realities (1/3)

I believe that reality is subjective. It varies from person to person to organization. The government has their own version of reality, expressed through laws. The laws demonstrate what is wrong and right in their reality. Society as a whole has their own version of reality, expressed through the culture. What is accepted and what is not, that is their reality. It's not wrong, or right, from an objective viewpoint. It's correct or corrupt to them, but not to others. Individuals also have their own versions of reality. What I believe is true, to me. What you believe is true, to you. If you think I'm wrong, then I am; in YOUR world.

It's hard for me to adhere to this belief sometimes. I see people doing dumb shit, or talking out their ass, and I get incredibly agitated. I have to specifically remind myself that, while I disagree, it doesn't make them wrong. Not objectively, at least.

Through the duration of this blog I will change perspectives without warning, from the objective 3rd party, to my own personal reality, and maybe even to someone else's. Discerning which one is which should become easier over time.
